TikTok has launched a new in-app feature called “Must Eat” in Los Angeles, New York City, and the San Francisco Bay Area. The guide aims to help food enthusiasts discover new restaurants that are popular within the platform’s food-focused community.

Each listing includes neighborhood details, pricing information, and relevant TikTok videos. The feature also allows users to save restaurants to their collections and create personalized lists of places to visit.

According to LA Mag, TikTok CEO Adam Presser hosted food creators at a reception in New York City to mark the launch. Presser shared that he first experienced the power of “FoodTok” during the pandemic with the viral feta cheese pasta trend, noting how the platform translates online content into real-life experiences.

The guide divides recommendations into two categories: “Everyday Eats” for casual dining and “Elevating Dining” for more upscale, special occasion restaurants. Initial Los Angeles-area restaurants highlighted include Villa’s Tacos, The Serving Spoon, and Anajak Thai.
