Located in San Diego's Carmel Valley at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar hotel, the restaurant is known for its precise, pure dishes and elegant dining room overlooking the resort's hillside.
Chef William Bradley, a Chula Vista native, opened Addison in September 2006. He envisioned the restaurant, named after architect Addison Mizner, as a modern take on French cuisine through a Southern California lens. Bradley’s culinary lineage connects to renowned chefs like James Boyce, Alex Stratta, Daniel Boulud, and Paul Bocuse, all of whom were influenced by the "Great Chefs of France" tradition.
Addison received its first Michelin star in 2019, a second in 2021, and its third in December 2023. In 2025, Los Angeles restaurants Somni and Providence also earned three stars, bringing the total for Southern California to three. The restaurant was recently ranked No. 31 on North America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026 and is one of fewer than 100 standalone Relais & Châteaux restaurants globally.
For its anniversary, Addison has a new look and is collaborating with French chef Anne-Sophie Pic, presented by luxury watchmaker Hublot. Chef Bradley has long admired Pic’s father, who was among the elite group of three-star chefs in France that inspired his own career path.
This is a milestone for Southern California's dining scene, and the collaboration with Anne-Sophie Pic makes it an exciting time for food enthusiasts to experience Addison.
