The A24 documentary, which follows the Theranos founder before her prison sentence, has earned over $45 million domestically and is generating Oscar buzz.
The documentary “You Can See Everything,” which covers Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes, has become a box office success, according to Variety. The film, distributed by A24, has grossed $45.1 million domestically to date. This comes after a strong second weekend where it collected $19.5 million from 2,655 theaters, an increase from its opening weekend.
Directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, the nearly three-hour film follows Holmes in the weeks leading up to her prison sentence. Filming began 34 days before she was due to report to prison, with Holmes and her partner Billy Evans inviting the crew to their rented beach house in Del Mar, California. Holmes began serving her sentence in May 2023 in a federal prison in Texas after being convicted on four counts of fraud and conspiracy relating to investors in 2022.
Unlike previous dramatizations, this documentary features Holmes herself. Variety reported that A24 is preparing an Oscar campaign for the film, pushing for nominations in major categories including Best Picture, Best Director for Fielder and Oppenheim, and Best Supporting Actress for Amanda Seyfried, who appears in scripted reenactments. The film premiered as a secret screening at the 53rd Telluride Film Festival on September 6, 2026, and was theatrically released on October 16, 2026.
