TeamLab is known for its interactive digital art installations, with one of its Japan exhibits drawing 2.5 million visitors in 2024, a record for a single art museum group, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
The museum will be located in the rear parking lot of Anaheim's ARTIC transit hub. Smith-Clementi, the master planner for OC Vibe, is designing the museum, which connects directly to the transit center. Its windowless exterior will shift colors with sunlight, contrasting with ARTIC's transparent facade.
OC Vibe, a 100-acre development by the Samueli family, is planned to include 1,500 homes, two hotels, and up to 1.1 million square feet of offices. Initial phases of OC Vibe, including a public plaza, Katella Commons market hall, a 5,000-seat concert hall, and The Weave office building, are expected to open in 2027.
This major cultural addition will bring TeamLab's unique immersive art experience to Southern California, making Anaheim a destination for digital art enthusiasts.
