The new line features an expanded range of womenswear and tailoring, building on his established aesthetic of relaxed silhouettes and natural textiles.
The collection draws inspiration from the Golconda Ashram in Pondicherry, India, designed by modernist George Nakashima. Pieces include a salmon-colored chore coat with a vine motif, a tobacco suede blouson jacket with subtle embellishment, and a zip-front jacket in a faded, tapestry-like print with embroidery. For women, a collarless leather jacket with a floral motif and a block-printed velvet jacket paired with a floor-grazing skirt are highlights.
Kumra's brand has been growing, with a shop in New York's Lower East Side and a guest designer spot at the upcoming Pitti Uomo trade fair. He is also developing his own factory in India, which will consolidate production, design, and operations. This move aims to streamline processes like dyeing and embroidery, bringing him closer to the craft.
The collection maintains Kumra's visual style, incorporating traditional Southeast Asian garment influences and folkloric details such as block-print dyeing and hand embroideries. The designs are grounded in an earthy palette of umber, moss, and terracotta, blending workwear and streetwear elements to create pieces that feel both youthful and refined.
